
· Serve as deputy to the Department Chair, exercising authority when the Chair deems necessary, to ensure uninterrupted departmental leadership and decision-making
· Facilitate, coordinate, support and oversee all departmental activities to promote recognition locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally; develop and monitor relevant metrics to gauge success
· Provide day-to-day operational oversight of a large, complex pediatric department, focusing on faculty affairs, education, research, and administrative functions
· Partner with the Chair to develop and execute the department’s strategic plan, aligning departmental priorities with the College of Medicine, health system, and university missions.
· Help guide the budget development for the Department
· Collaborate with Department leadership and philanthropy teams to identify funding priorities that align clinical, research, and educational goals
· Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and institutional policies, including ACGME, LCME, hospital, and university requirements
· Serve as a key liaison between the department, UK HealthCare and Golisano Children’s at UK leadership and affiliated clinical partners, as delegated by the Chair
· In collaboration with the UK Healthcare and Golisano Children’s at UK leadership, provide oversight of faculty and APPs to ensure high-quality, safe, effective care
· Represent the department in college, health system, and national pediatric organizations, as delegated by the Chair
· Provide leadership during periods of organizational change, growth, or crisis, ensuring stability and continuity of operations
MD, DO or equivalent
Completion of Pediatric Residency
Unrestricted KY Medical License
American Board of Pediatrics certification in General Pediatrics or Pediatric subspecialty
Leadership Experience at an Executive Level
Associate Professor rank or higher
